Inspiring Excellence: Every Grownup, Every Child, Every Day

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Mrs. Monica Randle, Principal

Welcome to school year 2020-2021!  2020 has truly been memorable.  I pray you and your family have been safe and healthy and look forward to seeing our students in their remote classrooms this Fall.

I was very impressed with how our students adapted to online learning.  I know it wasn’t easy for them and our parents.  As you may have heard we will begin school in a remote setting this Fall on Tuesday, September 8, 2020.  Our teachers are working hard to plan learning that is engaging and rigorous for our students this Fall.  I have always felt the relationship of parents and teachers is CRITICAL to our students learning and progress, and this Fall certainly will not be an exception.  We look forward to this continued partnership to ensure the emotional and academic growth of our students.

This Spring we heard many parents share their need for resources (ie school supplies and internet).  Kansas City Kansas Public Schools will be offering every child of Eugene Ware with school supplies this Fall.  Additionally, if you lack internet access KCKPS will be working to provide hotspots as well for families in need.

Within a few days you will receive a mailing from the district which includes a lunch application.  In order for our school and district to continue receiving MUCH needed funding, we need you to complete the form.  You may drop the form off at the office or complete online at KCKPS.ORG – parent and students tab – online meal application (at the bottom).  Last Fall, 95% of our families completed the form.  Our goal is 100% families complete and turn in!!  A 5% difference still accounts for about $2000 reduction in our school budget and we certainly need all of the funding possible.

In the next few days we will be reaching out to all of our families to check in around remote learning.

Thank you and go to infinity and beyond!!!
